Dollar Barn Adjusts Price Base to $1.29, Cites ‘Ambient Cost Pressures’
HOBART, OHIO – The Dollar Barn, located at 1801 Route 3 in the former Tractor Supply building, has raised its standard item price from $1.27 to $1.29, effective June 1. Owner Terrence Goff cited “ambient cost pressures” when reached by the Herald, a phrase he used twice without elaboration.
The two-cent increase is the first price adjustment at the Dollar Barn since 2019, when it raised prices from $1.25 to $1.27 under similar circumstances. A handwritten sign near the register reads: “Everything $1.29 (with tax). No exceptions. Yes, that one too.”
The store carries approximately 4,000 items across general merchandise, seasonal goods, and a refrigerated section whose contents rotate without advance notice.
