Village Releases Trick-or-Treat Schedule; Reflective ID Cards Required

HOBART, OHIO – The Village of Hobart has released its 2025 Trick-or-Treat schedule, dividing festivities between Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, to accommodate both neighborhood safety and Homecoming events.

Trick-or-Treating will begin Thursday evening in East Hobart, The Heights, Court Street, and Alma Trailer Park, with times ranging from 5:30 to 7:29 p.m. The Heights’ schedule was “adjusted for incline,” according to the Village.

Friday’s events include the annual Homecoming Parade at 4:00 p.m., followed by Trick-or-Treating in the Utilities Housing area and the long-anticipated Catfight Classic football game at Alma Chiggins Memorial Field. The evening will conclude with the Village Hall Party from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.

Residents are reminded that all participants must carry reflective identification cards or proof of residence, and that “masks are permitted provided visibility is reasonable.”

The Village also confirmed PAL-TV will provide live coverage of the parade and football game, “weather, power, and wildlife permitting.”

Why does The Heights get extra time just because they’re on a hill? I live on flat ground and still can’t make it down the driveway without tripping over candy wrappers.

Because kids there have to climb a 45 degree angle, Lorraine. It’s cardio.

Then maybe they should train year round like the rest of us…

Back when Dale Sr organized trick or treat, we didn’t need reflective cards. The moonlight was enough and everyone respected curfew.
